Chromecast. Finally, in 2014 Amazon released their very first Fire TV Stick. While Steve Jobs famously called the Apple TV a hobby, streaming devices are very mainstream these days. Every big tech company have either created a device to stream or are currently creating content to stream to those devices. Even though stream devices were started off primarily as content distribution devices, they have become more than just a way to share content. Watch this video to see how you can use each of them for your ministry. These four devices can be broken down into two categories: Content Streamers and Content Plus. The Content streamers are Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick. While you can play games on them, which is useful, you primarily use them just to stream content (i.e watch Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc). Content Plus are devices such as Apple TV and Google Chromecast. You can stream content on them but you can also do much more like share presentations, mirror your device on them and show photos. There are some real advantages to them as outlined in the video. Regardless of what device you choose, all four of them can be used for your ministry and are useful. However, because of what they can be used for and the different price points (there are some big differences in prices), you really have to determine what is best for you and your ministry.
