Corn Maze– Corn Mazes provide the prefect fall elements of fun and a little scary into one. Each corn maze looks a little different but they have been good fall events for our student ministry to do each year. We usually have fun playing in the games each Corn Maze has to offer and drinking cider and eating kettle corn popcorn. Then, of course, we all go through the maze seeing who can come out first. Simple, but fun for the group to do. Another option that is available at these Corn Mazes are a Fright night. I would not recommend you doing these as “official” student ministry events, but if students and leaders want to go on their own, it could be a good bonding event for them. Community Fall Fest– Fall Festivals are not new. They are all over the place every fall. However, they tend to cost a lot of money. That is why if you have time and resources, grab some hay, pumpkins, apple cider, candy and kiddie games to host a FREE community fall fest. It can be a great opportunity for you to work together as a whole Church to host something free for the community. Our Church has done this the past few years and it has been a wonderful event to reach new people for the community. Halloween Night Bash– Halloween night is a tricky one for middle and high schoolers. The younger they are the more interested they are in still going out and getting candy. The older ones may want to get candy but don’t want to look uncool by going out. So, make it easy for them and throw a Halloween bash at someone’s house in your group with pizza, candy and some fun games. Have it formatted like an Open House where they can come and go as they please but have a lot of fun while they are there. Turkey Bowl– Organize a flag football tournament the day before Thanksgiving or the weekend right after as a way for students to get together and have some fun! It’s also a great way to invite those not in your student ministry to be introduced to some of the students and student volunteers. Thanksgiving Alumni Party– Thanksgiving is the perfect time to have an Alumni party for all your returning college students or those no longer in your Student Ministry program. Invite them over to a house, have some food, maybe have everyone share what they are up to and then close up with an encouraging word from one of the Student Ministers
