Post a fun “controversial” Christmas post. This is all in fun but there are always Christmas related questions that people have fun opinions on. Like, for instance, this one to the right (“Die Hard”) always stirs up funny comments and memories for people. Another option is to pit 2 movies against each other..like “Elf” and “A Christmas Story”. Ask people which movie they prefer and why. Lots of engageyntment opportunity there. Ask what their favorite Christmas movie is. There are so many great ones, from the classics like, “It’s a Wonderful Life” to the new classics such as “Elf”, people have holiday favorites that they love. Simply ask them what their favorites are and see what their responses are. Ask people to post their favorite Christmas Worship Song is. This is perfect way to get people focused on the birth of Christ rather than other distractions around Christmas time. Hopefully, as they share some favorite Christmas worship songs, they will be encouraged throughout the day. Ask people to share their favorite Christmas song. If you don’t want to go just “worship” music but want to make it a little fun, you can also post about Christmas songs in general. From the greats like Bing Crosby and Sinatra to newer ones like Mariah Carey, there are so many great Christmas songs people love. Ask them which ones are their favorites. Post a poll about Christmas music. “When is it appropriate to start listening to Christmas music” is a great poll to do because people have some pretty set opinions on this. Whether it is before Thanksgiving, after Thanksgiving, right before Christmas or never, there are always some great comments. Encourage others with Bible verses. There are a ton of Bible verses centered around the birth of Christ that you can be posting and sharing. Here are 60 you can make into images using the Bible App or image creators like Word Swag or Adboe Spark Post. Share “Staff” Favorites. People like to hear what staff members enjoy and this is no different. You can do a variety of different “Staff Favorites” such as recipes, traditions, movies, or songs. You can even make it into a blog post and share it around to different platforms. Christmas Traditions. Many people have very fond memories of Christmas. So ask them what their favorites were growing up or are now with their family. Share your favorite Holiday foods. There are so many great foods out there during the holiday season. Ask people to share their favorite foods whether it is a main course or treat. Post your Decorations. Whether it is a Christmas tree, outside decorations or other decorations people have up, the reality is people LOVE to decorate for Christmas. So ask them to post their decorations up on a post. Share about Christmas Eve. As great as all the above posts are for engagement, you don’t want to miss on an opportunity to share about your Church’s Christmas Eve services. What could be even greater is if you post an image people can share on their social media accounts.

Conclusion

Although posting about Christmas Eve is on the bottom of this list, by no means is it least important. Everything we do over Christmas is to direct people to Christ and the birth of the Savior of the world. The Church has a great opportunity share joy, good will and happiness during this time on social media by asking questions, sharing funny posts and encouraging scripture can all help someone discover God this Christmas season.
