Take Good and Make Great

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay and Apple Watch. images-6Are these bigger screened iPhones the first ever?  No, Samsung has had bigger phones.  Is this Apple Pay the first payment option ever created for a phone?  No, other companies have done it before.  Is the Apple Watch the 1st smart watch?  No, there are plenty of other smart watches out there already on the market. So why make such a big deal about these products? [Tweet “Apple takes what is ordinary and makes them extrodinary. The same can be true for your ministry.”] Apple, Inc. is rarely the first to ever introduce a product.  But what they do so well is they make an existing product just that much better.  They did it with the Mac when they introduced the “mouse”.  They did it with mp3 players when they introduced the iPod.  They did it with tablets when they introduced the iPad. They made good, better. The same can be true with your ministry.  Anyone can put together a good youth group event, online chat experience or Sunday service.  The question is, what can YOU do to make good, better and great? One way would be to make the actual experience better by adding new props or a stage design.  There are some ideas here.  Another idea could be that you train your Online Chat Hosts more about active engagement and listening.  Maybe it’s just tweaking an existing game you do at youth group to make it social media friendly.  We did that with this game. There are so many small things that you could do that would add up to make the experiences you are doing so much better.  The question is not really a matter of what will you do, but will YOU choose to do them or not? What do you think?  What changes have you made in your ministry that have helped make good, better or great?]]>
