Always learning

Unknown-2With Pat being out of town, it also reminded me a very valuable lesson.  I always have to keep learning. The reality is, as ministry leaders, we need to know how things work in our ministry.  And if we don’t know how something works in our ministry, we need to figure it out.  We need to keep learning. I knew how to do most of my ministry, but truthfully, I didn’t know how to run some of the tech side of the rebroadcasting of services.  So, this past week I had to learn.  I had to explore the site and really figure out how to do it.  Thankfully I wasn’t at a complete loss because Pat gave me some instructions on what I needed to do to get the rebroadcast going.  But, because I was so stressed about the rebroadcast, I really explored the site so I could make sure that I knew how things worked just in case Pat left again, I would know what to do. After exploring the site and looking over Pat’s notes, I felt comfortable about the rebroadcast and I even discovered a few new things. When the night for rebroadcasting came, although I was really nervous about it coming through, it ended up being a good night.  We experienced some hick ups but overall it was a good experience. What is it in your ministry that you need to be learning now so you don’t stress out like me when you are put on the spot?]]>

  1. Tom, thank you for sharing. You did a great job, so you should be proud of yourself! I think it’s good that sometimes we are forced to get out of our comfort zone and do something new. Like you said, we’re always learning.
