It happens every year. After a few months off for summer, families prepare to send children back to school. And, as summer winds down and families prepare for the new school year, it’s the perfect time for your Church to connect and engage with your community on social media. In fact, it’s a great time to share some back-to-school encouragement for families.
Back-to-School Social Media Ideas
Here are some social media post ideas that will encourage and support families during this season:
- School Year Prayer. Share a brief, uplifting prayer for students, teachers, and families as they begin the new school year. In fact, you can share different prayers focusing on different school themes either daily or throughout the year.
- Bible Verses. Share encouraging verses relevant to starting a new school year. They can be for encouraging students, families and teachers as the new year begins.
- Teacher Encouragement. Highlight the importance of teachers with a post recognizing their dedication and prayers for them as they begin the year. If you have teachers at your Church, consider featuring them in posts.
- School Tips. Share some practical advice for parents and students that can help families get back into the routines of the school year. You can even share these in the form of an infographic or a short video.
- First Day Photo Challenge. Parents love to take pictures of their children on the first day of school. That is why you can encourage parents to share their children’s first day of school photos using a specific hashtag. Repost some of these images (with permission) to create a sense of community and encouragement.
- Lunchbox Notes Ideas. Create a downloadable, printable lunchbox notes with encouraging messages or scriptures that parents can use. They can be used as ideas or simply put into kids lunchboxes throughout the year.
- Post Grad Recognition. While parents usually post pictures of their children going back to school yearly, ultimately, these children go off to college or into the work force. Take time to recognize these by sharing a social media post about their new adventure and encourage them. You can even encourage the college students from your Church or community share their their 1st day off college pictures.
Conclusion
Back-to-school time is a really special time for families. While it is mostly positive, there can be some anxiety related to it. By sharing some or all of these ideas, you can create a supportive online community for your church families as they navigate this time of year.
