Don't Give up on Blogging

The longer answer can be found in this blog post from Impact. They give out different stats for just how effective blogging is STILL these days. For instance 2 points stand out the most to me the:

  • Blogs have been rated as the 5th most trusted source for accurate online information. In fact, they go on to say that 94% of people who share posts do so because they think it might be helpful to others. Blogging is viewed as a “less than” medium anymore. It is a trusted source for many people, especially if yours has a great reputation. Keep producing great content and people will keep sharing it.
  • 45% of marketers say blogging is the #1 most important piece of their content strategy. Images and videos are very important right now, no doubt about it. But blogging is still a very important piece of that strategy. Almost 50% of marketers say it THE most important piece to their content strategy…not in their top 5 or 10, but NUMBER 1. That means blogging is still effective.
But just because blogging is still effective, doesn’t mean that you give up on your other strategies. In fact, it is best if you use them all…separately and together. You can repurpose old blogs by making images or videos to update them. Or, make sure you include images in your blogs. The Impact article stated that blog articles with images get 94% more views. So make sure you use them all to reach all different kinds of people on all sorts of different social media networks. Although blogging may seem a little outdated it has proven over time to be an effective way you can share content. You can blog about all sorts of things in your church or ministry and the good news is that it doesn’t have to take a certain form every time you blog. All you have to do is be consistent as you share engaging and interesting content that others will want to read and share. The more consistent you be and engaging you can make them the more effective it can be in reaching more people. So, open up that blogging platform of yours get to some great content creation.
