Fiverr – Affordable Tech Support for Churches

Fiverr.com. “Fiverr is a global online marketplace offering tasks and services, beginning at a cost of $5 per job performed, from which it gets its name. The site is primarily used by freelancers who use Fiverr to offer services to customers worldwide” (thanks Wikipedia).  Simply put, it is tech support for churches who can’t afford a full time tech team. Here is why it’s great…especially for small to medium sized churches:

  1. fiverrIt’s affordable. Actually let me rephrase that .Fiverr is downright cheap! The reality is a lot of churches and ministries can’t afford to pay a creative guru or tech man.  But Fiverr allows you to get someone working for you on these matters. These workers start at just $5 a task!!!
  2. It’s quick. They can be quick so the turn around time is perfect especially if you are in a pinch.  Even if you aren’t in a pinch, most of the workers will promise to have your request done in 1-3 days.
  3. There are lots of tasks they can do. Fiverr workers are basically independent contractors and they are selling services they can do.  And because they have a lot of talents, you can find someone to easily do a task you need. Whether it is a graphic, a voice over, fix to your website or something else, there are plenty of talented people to connect with.
I have used Fiverr for a variety of tasks over the years and they are great.  But please do your homework.  Even though there are great people out there who can help you out there are also some frauds. So read the reviews and before you commit to paying them (you pay first, they do the service after), make sure you ask all the necessary questions you need to. If done right, Fiverr can be the perfect site for you to get great tech support and quality work done for a much cheaper than having to pay for a part-time or full-time staffer.
So what do you think? Have you ever used Fiverr before? Where do you go for tech support? Share your thoughts below or on social media using #ymsidekick.
