Last Minute Easter Preparations for Your Church

Easter is less than a week away! Most of the planning is already done and all there is left to do is execute. However, there are still a few last minute Easter preparations your Church can make this week to make sure that your services run smoothly and people have a wonderful experience.

Here are 4 last minute Easter preparations should you be working on this week leading up to Easter.

Make Sure Hospitality is Ready

Considering that Easter attracts many people that don’t normally go to your Church, you have to make sure every part of your Church is on their “A” game. For your in-person attendees, your Hospitality and Greeting Teams will be on the front lines of making a great first impression. For your online attendees, your Chat Hosts will be the front line there. Make sure these teams know how to welcome people, get them to the places they need to be and be equipped with the right information. One idea would be to create an FAQ card with information for the Volunteer teams to have with all the right information and points of contact as they will probably be bombarded with questions by new attendees.

Have Clear Call to Actions

Easter is one of the top three Church services of the year. Because of that, you will have new people come to your Church. This provides you with a great opportunity to show them what your Church is all about. This is not only what you believe but about what your Church is doing in the community and for others.

We all know that a lot of people who come to Church for Easter don’t come back the week after. That is because they don’t see the value of getting involved at your Church and don’t see the impact you are having in the lives of others. Create a call(s) to action that is going to encourage people to take a step of faith or to get more involved in your Church or community group. Having simple on-ramps for them to do will make it easier for them to respond. Create digital connections like QR codes or text messages that will help them respond easy.

Check Your Tech

Easter preparationsTechnology is great as it enables Churches to reach the ends of the earth. However, while technology is great, it can also break from time to time. That is why it is so important to make sure you check your tech before Easter Sunday. If you are a portable Church this is especially important as the constant wear and tear of setting up and breaking down can really take a toll on cords, computers, speakers, mics and other tech. If you suspect a piece of your tech equipment may be close to failing, make sure you check it. Even if you have a permanent building, it would be good to check your tech, especially if you believe there may be some tech that is failing. The last thing you want to do is risk having tech fail during Easter services. Check them all just to make sure.

Make Sure Follow Up Strategy is Ready

It is the hope that all your Easter events and services could be great and run very smoothly. When you plan and execute all your pre-Easter events and activities, it greatly increases the chances that you will have more people come to Easter services. That is why having an appropriate follow-up strategy is vital. How can you get them to fill out a connection form? Then, what will you do with that connection form and how quickly will you touch base with them? These are all important questions to ask so that you can follow up and connect with all the new people from Easter.

Conclusion

Easter is a major service every year. You put months of planning into it and most of the work is done. This week, as you lead up to Easter, take time to make sure your in-person and online hospitality is ready, that you have clear call to actions, your tech equipment is tested and ready and you have an appropriate follow up strategy. These are last minute Easter preparations you need to make sure Easter is fantastic for everyone involved.
