Be successful in ministry by being proactive


7 Habits of Highly Effective People book by Stephen Covey talks about is that a reactive person often allows circumstances and situations dictate how they will act or what they will do.  They are controlled by circumstances. However, a proactive person takes initiative and is doesn’t allow circumstances or events deter him/her. They think through alternatives and lead through the situation. Which one are you? Regardless of which one you more naturally side towards, the good news is you can become proactive today. Ways for you to be proactive:

  1. Make a list.  Write it down and look at it daily
  2. Set Goals to Strive for. What is it you are after…in life and in ministry.  If you don’t have a goal to reach, you will w
  3. Constantly evaluate and adjust.  Don’t wait until something is way overdue for a change to change. Make changes as you go.  If something isn’t working, change it…ASAP.  Don’t wait.
So right now, TAKE A MINUTE and be proactive.  Maybe you need to make a list of things you want to accomplish this week/month and set your sight on them.  Maybe it to adjust something that is broken.  Whatever it is that you aren’t don’t and How are you being proactive in your life and ministry?  What steps are you taking to reach our goals?  Share them below or on social media using #ymsidekick as the hashtag.  I would love to hear your proactive thoughts.
