Here’s is the TEACHING POINT of this video illuation. In life, it is easy to “run away” from our problems, to not fess up and take responsibility. That if we admit we were wrong, no one would forgive us. But that is not how God views us. Sure, we may have made a mistake, but God still loves us, cares for us and will forgive us. The Bible says about forgiveness:
- Luke 6:36-37 ESV “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ‘Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;”
- Matthew 5:44 ESV “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”
- Ephesians 4:32 ESV “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
- Psalm 103:8-12 ESV “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”
