reported that Kodak, the maker of photography film for well over a century and once enjoyed an 80% market share for film, was looking into Bankruptcy protection. Well, this week, all reports show that Kodak will be filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in the upcoming weeks. How can the film industry leader be now in such a perdicament? As Mashable reports, “Kodak’s fall from grace is a textbook example of a company that anticipated consumer trends but failed to act on them.” Kodak was great about recognizing trends, but unfortunately failed to act on them. Because of this, they are going to be filing for Chapter 11 in hopes to reorganize and become profitable again. So what does this have to do with ministry? Recognizing trends in your youth program and the area you live in is important. But recognizing them is not good enough. There has to be action associated with what you are experiencing and seeing. So right now, TAKE A MINUTE and do 1 and/or 2 things:
- Process the trends you are seeing in your area with youth. What action steps do you need to take to address those trends? Create some action steps to keep you accountable to responding to your findings.
- Set up a leaders meeting where you can talk through with your leaders and let them apart of the process.
