As Lebron and the Cavaliers getting ready to start training camp, they had a news conference for Lebron and the team to answer some questions. One of the questions Lebron was asked during that news conference was how he felt the team was going to gel and mesh together. His response was enlightening…to me at least. He said simply, we have to “not waste the day”. Each and every day they have to give it their all to get better as individuals and as a team so that they can compete at the highest level. It wasn’t going to just happen, they had to really work at it and give it their all each day. Wasting the day. That made me think, how often do I waste days? I’m not just referring to work production waste. I’m referring to personal time as well. How often do I waste time with others by saying, “I’ll hang out with them tomorrow” or “I’ll share with them how much they have impacted me later”. As I shared on Monday, don’t wait to share with them and spend time with them. But even more, don’t waste the day. Every day is a NEW day for you to take life by the horns and control just how much you get out of it. Wouldn’t it be great for you to say, “I didn’t waste today. I did the best I could at work, at home and in my relationships.” I want that. What does that look like for you? How could you be the most productive “you” each and every day? And how would you life and those around you be different because you were not wasteful each day?]]>
