I know it may sound odd, but have a draft day for your ministry. Take time to scout out to be potential volunteers and leaders within your Church or in your community to help you in ministry in the future. Do research. Ask around which people would be ideal candidates for your ministry positions. Then, after all the research is done on your part, invite this person(s) to be part of your ministry and go through the process of being a leader. The reality is that you may not need to do a “draft day“ for your ministry but now is the perfect opportunity for you to be looking, evaluating and asking people to consider serving alongside you. They can be either new volunteers or new leaders within your organization that can help you take that next step in your ministry. Maybe you could do a brainstorming session with your current volunteers to see who else you all can bring in and “draft“ for the coming year. The more research and processing you can be doing now on who can and should be a leader in the upcoming year will help you best minister for your Church or ministry. What do you think? How do you recruit new leaders to support the ministry? Do you do a ministry draft? Share your thoughts, experiences and questions below or on social media using #ymsidekick when you share. Let’s continue this conversation.
